Andrew's 2nd birthday, zoo day, fun with Evie, Anniversary

Happy 4th Anniversary to us! Watched a movie and had yummy snacks :)
 Water fountain at the zoo

 James the train

She makes the funniest faces when concentrating really hard, haha
Andrew likes to be cool while fishing
From happy to sad. Can happen so fast, haha.
 Evie loves daddy piggyback rides

It has been a crazy couple of weeks! I am pretty exhausted. Brandon had to go to the E.R because his appendix was inflamed. They didn't do anything yet so we are just waiting to see if it gets better on its own or worse. So he hasn't been feeling very good lately. He finished his rotation at the hospital and is now doing a rotation in a clinic with an internal medicine doctor. He likes it better in the hospital becuase he got to have his own patients and in the clinic he mostly just shadows the doctor. But at least he gets weekends off for 4 weeks! Nice to finally be able to see him for a weekend!

Evie has been getting really cranky. I don't know if she is getting more teeth or what her deal is but she has been very high maintenance lately. She has developed a really loud shriek when she doesn't get what she wants. When Andrew takes her toys she gets furious at him! haha, they are already fighting. They do play together once in a while now though. Andrew likes to put his face by Evie's feet and thinks it's hilarious when she kicks her feet at him. Evie loves to play with Andrew; he makes her laugh a lot. But if Evie touches Andrew with her hands he gets really mad at her.

Andrew got sick again with a bad cold/congestion. He also has an ear infection. So he was sick for his birthday poor guy. We went to the zoo anyways for his birthday and he had a really good time. For some reason he gets super hyper when he is sick and won't sit down and just watch a show or anything so getting out of the house is a good thing for him when he is sick. Both kids haven't been sleeping at night at all. Brandon and I are up for most of the night with them. Andrew just wakes up and cries a lot in the night because he doesn't feel good. It is really tough when kids are sick!

Andrew's birthday was fun. I decorated the living room with all his train stuff so he got pretty excited when he walked out and saw it. Evie thought it was really awesome too! I wanted to do a lot more but i did not have the energy. But it was good enough. We got Andrew a basketball hoop, a Thomas movie, and a train, and my mom sent him a fun drill set. He loved the little train best of all and spent a long time driving it on his tracks. He was too sick to enjoy his cake but had a few finger licks of frosting. I was going to make a Thomas cake but didn't have the energy and he wouldn't have eaten it anyway so maybe next year I can do that for him.

I taught my first lesson in young women's today. It was on chastity. It went really well. I wasn't too awkward so that's good! I had written a whole lesson but then changed it last night because it was too much of me just talking and not enough questions. So I just wrote up a bunch of questions to discuss with the girls and showed a little video and brought some fun scrapbook pictures of our wedding and the girls opened up a lot and talked so it was great! Hopefully I can learn how to be a better teacher with this calling; I think it will be really good for me :)

funny videos

I got Andrew a Thomas quilt from ebay for $11 and he loves it! I was going to make him one but the fabric would have been $20 alone so we got a great deal.

Andrew was going crazy with Evie getting attention! Poor Evie has to be tough to handle mr. crazy man!

the other one wasn't working so maybe this one will

painting, pool

Andrew had so much fun painting. Everything he painted was a snake though, haha. He would make a hissing sound for each line he painted.
 Andrew's snake painting

Andrew has really been enjoying painting the past couple days. He loves to pain snakes and make hissing sounds for them, haha. We also got to go the pool with a couple ladies in the ward and their kids so that was fun. Evie is wearing a size 18 month swimsuit that's only a little too big. She is getting so big already! Evie has really liked eating pears and applesauce. Today I was eating an apple and she insisted on having some so she actually ate quite a bit of it. She can scrape off apple pretty well with her two little teeth. Andrew gets to start with his new speech therapy helper on Tuesday next week so hopefully that helps give us some ideas on how to get him talking more. I have been feeling like I must be doing something wrong or not doing something and that's why he isn't talking :( Everyone keeps telling me that it just depends on the kid though it's not what I am doing or not doing. But I still feel somewhat responsible. I have just been doing the best I can and providing lots of opportunities for Andrew to learn, but maybe I do too much and need to slow down for him, I don't know. At least he is a very happy kid. I really love being a mom to these sweet cute little guys; they have been making me laugh and smile everyday and that is such a great blessing :)

Speech evalutaion, Evie's own room

Evie and Andrew playing nicely together! hooray! Andrew didn't even try to throw the balls at her! Evie just likes to watch him.

We went to the speech evaluation session for Andrew this week. He didn't qualify for the Early Steps program. He scored a 74 and he needed a 70 or lower to be in the program. So just did slightly too well for the program. He did qualify for another program that will send a teacher out to help with speech activities once a week so that will be helpful. I have been working my hardest on it with him and he is doing better, but I could use some fresh ideas and help. Hopefully it gets him talking soon. Evie had a little infection this past week so we have been trying to clear that up for her. She moved out to the playroom in Andrews old crib now. It is so nice to have our room back to ourselves! She sleeps so much better in her own room too. She loves the big nice crib and mobile.

More alphabet activities

B is for ball and box
Loves to roll the balls down the ramp! Ramps are one of the best toys!
I made him bean bags to throw in the hole but he preferred balls
C is for colors! Andrew is getting very good at matching colors.

D is for Dress up. Andrew loves playing dress up. He loves my necklaces and any kind of glasses he can find. We had to get Evie in on it too. She makes a pretty cute supergirl.

Q is for Quiet book. Andrew can finally play with the quiet book I made him!
Evie loves to dig in the rice too. She is not going to be afraid of getting messy like Andrew is!

Andrew loves to stack blocks of all kinds
W is for Wrestle. Andrew has been playing pretty nicely with Evie. He likes to sit and look at her and give her hugs. Evie loves him too.
