The past 2 days have been terrible. Brandon and I have been so sick. Yesterday I had to go to the E.R because I was constantly throwing up and just couldn't hold anything down. They gave me some nausea medicine and an iv to hydrate me which helped a lot. Today I was able to eat and keep everything down so that is a good start. Brandon still hasn't eaten anything but at least neither of us are throwing up any more. It is really hard to take care of Andrew when we are both sick! So we are really grateful my mom flew out here last night to help us recover. Andrew's stomach is still bothering him a little but he seems to be feeling pretty good. He is getting so good at walking. Today he just wanted to walk everywhere, it was so cute!

Beach
Andrew figured out how to crawl behind the couch and get into the "no no" corner, haha.
He likes to sit in the laundry basket and watch barney
Ellie and I got to go to the beach today, it was super fun! Andrew loved it. He crawled all over the sand. He even liked when the waves splashed him today. Tonight he was super sick though :( He was throwing up all over for the first time. Poor little guy :( We will have to keep a careful eye on him tonight.

Zoo, Birthday, Walking
This week it has been super nice to have Ellie visiting. Andrew loves hanging our with her :) She has been getting up with him at night so Brandon and I can sleep which has been very helpful too. Yesterday we went to the Miami zoo. It is a huge zoo! We spent probably and hour and half walking in just one section. We only made it through the one section because Andrew was tired and it was really hot. But he liked the zoo a lot :) He was so excited to see the animals and he would talk to them.
Andrew is 1 year old today! Crazy we have had him for a whole year already! He is getting so big. He liked opening all his presents this morning. And Ellie and I decorated the living room for him with streamers and balloons. He thought the decorations were pretty cool. He is one spoiled little guy! I got Brandon's sore throat thing and Brandon still has a bad cough and Andrew is starting to get sick too today so that hasn't been so fun :( But at least Andrew has some fun new toys to play with.

anniversary, texture play, doctor visit
Anniversary :) I made Brandon bottles full of yummy candy and a card and he got me flowers and a carrot cake :) It was super good!
Wouldn't even touch the stuff!
This is the look I get every time I try to get him to touch something different. He just looks at me like "You want me to touch that?" haha, he is pretty funny.
Yesterday was Brandon and my 3rd anniversary. It's crazy how fast time fly's by! I feel like we just got married. We were both feeling pretty sick so we didn't get to do anything too crazy but we had cake and watched a movie, so that was nice :) This week I have been trying to focus on texture things for Andrew. He just really hates getting his hands dirty though, haha. I really thought all little boys loved being messy, but he does not at all. He likes to make a mess but not have anything stuck to his hands. I tried making him this flubbery stuff to play with in the bath but he would not even try to touch it. It was too weird for him. Then I sprayed some shaving cream in there for him to smear around. He tried that for a little bit but then decided that was too messy too so I just gave him a bath. Then I tried some cornmeal with a little water mixed in. He just stared at it for a while until I got a spoon out and showed him he could scoop it and fling it everywhere. He liked that. And he liked searching for little bugs I hid in the cornmeal. But he never just stuck his hands in to play with the stuff. I also made him a texture board with all sorts of different feeling things on it, but he wasn't that interested in it. Probably would have worked a few months ago but he is too busy to sit and feel and the things now. He just tries to pull it all off of there.
I went to the doctor today again. And I'm not doing so great. I haven't gained any weight still and I lost a pound since the last visit a few weeks ago so the doctor is really worried. I need to try to gain 5-6 pounds in the next couple of weeks. I have such a hard time eating well with the nausea though so I'm not sure what I am going to do. It is also hard to cook well for myself when Andrew is holding on my leg the whole time begging to be picked up. He hates it when I have to cook dinner. So my goal is to try and eat as much as I can while I have visitors coming. Ellie will be here this week and then my mom comes a few weeks so hopefully I can figure out a better eating pattern. I may go try some ginger tea or something too to help. I just started feeling the baby moving around all the time though. He moves so much. I feel lots of little flutterings going on in there so he is pretty active.

Fun with Rice
Today Brandon had to go to school all day. He has been gone since 10 and it is 7 now and he still isn't home :( . So Andrew and I decided to be creative this evening. I saw all these sensory play things people have done and thought I would try rice in a bucket. I didn't anticipate that Andrew would throw it all over however, haha. I definitely should have thought of that! He played with it in the bucket for about 5 minutes and then discovered he could throw it all over the carpet and that was much more fun. He especially liked when it landed in the box and made a loud noise. I also made a funnel out of paper and poured the rice in and made it land on his feet. He thought that was hilarious! He threw rice for about an hour. It was great! Our floor was pretty messy but I was able to salvage most of the rice for another play day.
