Diving in Bahamas

Diving in the Bahamas was a crazy experience for me. It was my first time diving in the ocean. We were originally supposed to go on an easy lagoon dive right off of the beach by our hotel but that did not work out. We ended up having to go to the shark side of the island to do a different dive. Before going on the dive I said I would go only if we were not going to see any sharks, but my worst fear ended up coming true. We went on our first dive and I had a really hard time getting water out of my mask and seeing anything. Then when I got back on the boat I was extremely boat sick even though I had taken a dramamine. The waves were really choppy and huge. After our first dive the dive leaders said we were going to get a great suprise, we were going diving to a ship wreck where there would be lots of sharks. I was so scared! Sharks are my worst nightmare and I had no intention of going in there with all those sharks. I ended up going because I was so sick on the boat being in the water was the only way to feel better. I will admit being in the water with the sharks was not as bad as I had invisioned but it was still scary. The sharks were pretty big and there were quite a few circuling the ship wreck. All in all, the dive was tough and not my favorite experience, but now I have at least tried it.
