Layla!

Layla decided to come one day early for us just to surprise us! I had taken the kids to the children's museum and had a busy morning doing all sorts of things. I started having some stronger contractions around 3:00 right while I was in the middle of dying my hair, haha. I thought it wasn't too big of a deal yet so I didn't worry too much at first, but then they kept coming so I decided we should go in just in case it was real labor. We got in the car to take the kids to my friend Mary's house but I had to have Brandon drop me at the hospital first because the contractions were getting so strong. I went in and they checked me and I was already 5 cm dilated! So they got me back into a room as fast as they could but everything still takes a while in the hospital. By then I was in some serious pain from the contractions and at a 7. By then I lost hope of getting an epidural, I was going way too fast and they still had to wait for a blood test to come back. They called my Dr. and he got there just as I was getting super ready to deliver. I was in so much pain I was just screaming I couldn't even help it! It was embarrassing but they all said it wasn't that bad of screaming. Brandon got to deliver Layla and did a great job. I didn't tear or anything and just had to push 2 or 3 times and out she came. She was a big girl at 8lbs 6 ounces and 21 inches long. I can't believe she fit inside of me let alone came out! And she had so much dark hair. I may get one baby who looks like me.
After the birth I felt great and have made a pretty quick recovery. Layla is a great eater and is so mild and calm. She has been sleeping a lot. She eats every 3 hours and then sleeps. It's so fun to have such a small little one again. Andrew and Evie seem huge! Andrew really loves having Layla around. He likes to hold her and give her things and is very sweet with her.. Evie has had a really hard time but she is warming up to her a little. At first she wouldn't go near the baby and would cry whenever one of us was holding her but last night she finally wanted to hold her and give her pacifier and put blankets on her so she is getting more used to her. It will be quite a process getting used to having three of them. Andrew and Evie are so wild I'm going to have to keep Layla strapped to me or safe in her crib or something so she doesn't get trampled.
