Preschool: Dentist, Cats, Fruits/Vegetables, night time games

Dentist Preschool lesson. Andrew gets to go to the dentist next week so we learned all about what the dentist does. We practiced brushing some chattering teeth and sang the song "this is the way we brush our teeth". He thought the teeth were pretty funny.

Then we read Clarabella's teeth and Dora goes to the dentist.
I also got these fun photo cards that have pictures of people doing random activities. It was perfect for getting him to describe what was happening. There were a ton in the box and he wanted to talk about each of them.
Then we did an activity to see if he knew bigger and smaller. It was too easy for him so he has that one down.

Preschool Cat lesson

First we played vet and brushed the Andrew's new kitty and puppy. Evie liked it too.

Then we did Scat the Cat where the cat changes colors. He loves that story.

Next we sang the 3 little kittens and Andrew did a mitten matching file folder game.

Next we did yarn basket ball toss. Andrew really liked that!

Andrew and Evie liked wearing cat ears too!

Last we did kitty whisker counting. We taped on pipe cleaners for the whiskers.

Fruits and Vegetables
Got a fun fruit and vegetable counting cans game from the toy library. Andrew played with it for 45 minutes. We washed the food in the sink;cooked it in some pots and counted the food into the right cans.

Evie can't stand me taking pictures of Andrew only so she needed a few shots, haha

Trying to do less shows at night so one night I made an animal habitat sorting game for Andrew to play. He already knew where most of the animals lived so that was great! Evie just had fun looking at the pictures. Then they played tag together for about 30 minutes! I got to just sit on the couch and watch them play; it was so cute!

Mommy preschool: Apples

The apple counting tree. Each apple had a number on it and Andrew counted the right number of apples into each little cup. He did great! He really loved it.

Next we read two books about apples. Andrew learned about the different colors apples can be and how they grow. He also learned that when you cut an apple open there are seeds inside so he was really excited to try it. We cut apples and took out the seeds and then he did apple stamping. The stamping was a little too messy for his taste but he still liked it.

I bought a fun alphabet puzzle so Andrew can start learning uppercase and lowercase. He knows all the uppercase pretty well but the lowercase is confusing so it was a good activity. I tried just focusing on A and a few others but he was so excited he just wanted to do them all.
After we sang 10 little apples to the tune of ten little Indians. He loved it. And that was all we did. He had a really good time and it was great one on one time with mommy while Evie was sleeping.

September

Andrew got a new beta fish named Sharky. He loves it, but I probably love it more, haha. Fun to have our first pet.

Sharky didn't have to stay in his little bowl too long. He got a nice tank all to himself.

Evie let me do piggy tails finally! Yeah!

Andrew and Evie don't like going to the YMCA anymore. Andre kicks and screams and throws a big fit about going to the daycare they have so we just play in the gym. They love playing soccer in there.

I brought sunflower seeds as a snack and the squirrels were going crazy for all the spilled ones. The kids loved it. They would come right up no fear.

Found Andrew asleep like this when I went to check on him for nap, haha. He has been such a stinker about naps now. I think he is transitioning out of them. I let him watch a show in his bed now and he has piles of library books to read. Sometimes he lets me sing him songs and he falls asleep and sometimes not; so every day is a little bit up in the air. Evie just goes to sleep and is happy about it so that is super nice!

Costco had some huge horses they could sit on, haha.
 Evie loves ice cream!

Barns and Noble has a fun Thomas track the kids can play with. Trains are still one of their favorite things.

I have still been pretty stick every day so we are just making it by day by day right now. I went to the OBGYN today and everything is good with the baby. He said the baby is big! Maybe we will have a big baby this time around. I go back in a week for genetic testing, but so far so good with the baby. I am 13 weeks so a few more weeks and we can finally know what we are going to be having!
Monday is the first day Brandon can submit his residency applications so that is exciting! We are applying to about 40 places and he will start interviewing probably around October. It is exciting to be nearing the end of medical school!
